Welcome to Holme Valley Primary School. We are delighted that you have been successful in being allocated a place for your child to join our school. We would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child from everyone at Holme Valley.
The Reception year is a very important time for your child at school and a very special time for you as parents and carers. We want to ensure that your child’s transition to school is a positive experience and runs as smoothly as possible for everyone. As a starting point, we have set up this page on our school website, dedicated to sharing information for our families of new starters.
On this page, you will find the information that we will share at the transition sessions. We have also uploaded some other useful information which will help you to support your child with their transition to school and to help you to feel prepared for this important stage in your child’s life.

All children in North Lincolnshire are able to receive free books monthly until they are 5 years old. Please follow this link to register your child if you have not already done so.
The BBC starting school toolkit offers links to a range of advice to support your child when they start school both practically and emotionally. There are also fun, interactive games for your children to play to help them learn about starting school.
