SEND

Holme Valley Primary School is committed to providing an appropriate and high-quality education to all of our pupils.

We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs, have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum, which is accessible to them, and to be fully included in all aspects of school life. We believe that all children should be equally valued in school. We will strive to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and to develop an environment where all children can flourish and feel safe.

As a result of our commitment to inclusion, we offer quality first teaching to all children in the classroom and our curriculum is adapted to meet the learning needs of a wide range of children on an individual basis. Should the children need more support, we offer a wide range of intervention programmes throughout the school, and all of our support staff are trained to deliver various interventions in all year groups, both in small groups and individually.  Our SENDCO is Mrs Amanda Dakin and she co-ordinates provision for SEND children throughout the school and liaises with outside agencies on a regular basis to make sure that their needs are met. She also works closely with parents to provide support and information on how best to support their child.

A copy of our accessibility policy can be found in the SEND section of our policies page.
